Blessings to every HIV/AIDS activist, to every victim of "reparative therapy," to every rioter fighting for her right to live, to every homeless LGBTQ youth who died on the streets, to every victim of a hate crime, to every husband who had to wait in the hospital lobby while his partner died, to every LGBTQ person in immigration detention centers, to every lesbian black life that matters--
Blessings. I praise God that your sweat and tears have bent the arc of this universe more towards justice. Our celebrations this weekend honor you, and we pray for your passion as we march forward.
"You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!"
