Join us on Sundays at 11:30am!

We meet in the New City Center on the corner of E 31st St and 16th Ave S in Minneapolis.

Our address is: 3104 16th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407

You are welcome but not required to wear a mask. But if that’s not you, or you’re feeling sick, we’d love to have you join us online here!

Children’s Ministry

Children are an important part of our community! We welcome our kids to stay in the service with us so that they can more fully participate in our community, in addition to learning that church is a place where they belong. We have a designated activity table with toys and coloring materials to keep the kids engaged, and we always staff the kids’ section with our Children’s Minister and a vetted volunteer. We believe the Holy Spirit moves through young people in special and important ways, and we look forward to having your family with us at church!”

New City Church Calendar

This is a much requested feature for our community- we will be testing out a shareable calendar that people can subscribe too. Please let us know if you have any questions!

See you Sunday!

FAQs

What safety precautions are in place for COVID?

Masks and a complete round of COVID vaccinations are required for all onsite attendees, including children. Preaching and readings will be unmasked. If you or anyone in your household is feeling sick, join us online here!

What should I expect? What does Worship look like each week?

When you first come in, check in at the screen at front door to get name tag (if it’s your first time we’ll be around to help you get a name tag printed!)

Worship lasts for about an hour and includes a sermon, a scripture reading, a few songs, a time for prayer, and some action steps/announcements. (If you want to experience past services, you can always watch them here!)

We refer to God using She/Her, He/Him, and They/Them pronouns on rotation.

If at any point you feel overwhelmed or need to move your body, there’s a lobby right outside the room where you’re welcome to either take time for yourself or participate in the service from a distance.

As of right now we don’t have food or coffee, but as COVID restrictions allow, that’s something we plan to bring back!

What about transportation? Is there parking? What bus route should I take to get there?

There is plenty of free street parking around the building. Just make sure to keep an eye out for any snow emergencies (we are in Minnesota, after all!) You can find info on snow emergency parking rules here and a map to see where you can park during each day of a snow emergency here.

We’re close to stops on the 14 (runs North/South on Bloomington) and 21(runs East/West on Lake Street) bus routes, as well as a 15 minute walk from the Lake Street stop on the green line.

Is your building wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Our building is wheelchair accessible and our main worship space is on the first floor.

What should I wear? Do you have a dress code?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in! You can wear your fanciest outfit or your comfiest sweats; it’s totally up to you.

What are some other ways to connect at New City? What is this thing called “Circle” I keep hearing about?

New City has community members around the world, so we use Circle to bring everyone together. Circle is an online space specifically for our community (think social media or Slack). It complements what we do on Sunday by being a space people can connect throughout the week. You can find things like announcements, prayer requests, group signups, events, and all kinds of other fun things people want to share! Sign up and join us here!

I have another question you didn’t answer here. Who should I ask?

We’d love to connect with you and answer any questions you may have. Send us a message here.
